Richard Russell is an English former professional rugby league footballer of the 1980s and '90s. He played at representative level for England, and at club level for Wigan, Oldham, and Castleford Tigers, playing at Wing, or Hooker, i.e. number 2 or 5, or 9.
During the 1987–88 Rugby Football League season, Russell played on the wing for defending champions Wigan in their 1987 World Club Challenge victory against the visiting Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.
Richard Russell won a cap for England while at Castleford Tigers in 1995 against Wales.[1]
